SUGARTRUCK RECORDINGS is the
result of a series of projects created by members of homohop group Deep Dickollective. After we got serious enough to record
the tracks that would become our debut CD " BourgieBohoPostPomoAfroHomo" and began to get local and national bookings
the on basis of our small,yet important website presence, the need to consolidate our efforts and make the growing collection
of music and connections to community readily accesible took on greater importance.
I've spent countless hours uploading
MP3's collecting photos designing covers; Tim'm West and I each have roughly 15 years of professional and artistic connections
since the beginning of our college careers in the late 1980's-early 90s, and former D/DC member Ralowe T. Ampu was
an invaluable source of info about (and connection to) the queer and alternative music scenes in the bay area.
It
is our desire to share the wealth of knowledge around the art of self promotion we have accumulated, as well as our musical
idiosyncracies. In addition to our various CD projects The Sugartruck site will continue to include links to the
sites of our wide variety of artist friends/co-creators, as well as merchandise, tour info, and a number of "how to" type
guides to resources for creating an online musical and/or literary presence.
